Purification and characterization of a saccharide-binding protein from penetration glands of Diplostomum pseudospathaceum - a bifunctional molecule with cysteine protease activity

Abstract

A beta-1,3-glucan binding lectin from penetration glands of Diplostomum pseudospathaceum cercariae was isolated by affinity chromatography. The investigated protein was considered a bifunctional molecule possessing both lectin and enzyme activity
