Multiple sclerosis ( MS) is a disease of the central nervous system , whose main substrate is an autoimmune inflammation affecting the myelin and nerve fibers. The majority of patients (85 % ) of the disease starts developing acute symptoms ( in hours ) that persists constantly over 24 hours and are defined as attacks ( relapses).
Typically, there are the first signs of the disease between the twentieth and fortieth year of age and is , for example, visual disturbances, sensitivity , mobility, balance , etc. In the case of the first relapse in the lives of patients with positive findings on ancillary diagnostic methods (magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI) and cerebrospinal fluid ) talking about the so-called clinically isolated syndrome ( clinically isolated syndrome , CIS).
