Abstract

Dual antiplatelet therapy consisting of acetylsalicylic acid and an adenosine diphosphate receptor blocker is the cornerstone of the treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome. Two new adenosine diphosphate receptor blockers are now available - prasugrel and ticagrelor.

This overview shows the comparison of their effect based on available clinical trials.
