Abstract
Keeping pneumococcal diseases and especially invasive ones under control is a worldwide priority. Universal porgrammes for immunization of children have been introduced in many development countries.
Recommendation for adult population are however mostly missing or are oriented on polysacharide vaccines. The listed recommendations try to offer to a general practitioner guidelines on how to immunize both the general population and specific risk groups.
