The present study addresses the question which of the macrostructural ordering procedures (nesting, strictly alphabetical arrangement, niching) will be more advantageous to the supposed addressee group of the emerging Large Academic Dictionary German-Czech (LADGC). It is argued that a strictly alphabetically arranged dictionary will probably better meet the needs of the target users of the LADGC than dictionaries with other types of arrangement.
Therefore, the issue of how morphologically related lexemes can be linked in dictionaries with a strictly alphabetical macrostructure is addressed here. The analysis shows that current German-Czech dictionaries incline to formalism in terms of treatment of morphologically related lexemes.
