New trends in reconstructive surgery of upper urinary tract in small children

Abstract

Progress and development of endoscopic technology in medicine is responsible for wide introduction of laparoscopy to surgery. In paediatric urology, we are recording development especially in the field of reconstructions of congenital disorders of the kidney and upper urinary tract.

Operation of congenital hydronephrosis, duplex anomalies like heminephrectomy and ureter-pyelostomy or retroperitoneoscopic nephrectomy are most frequent laparoscopic reconstructive operations. With increasing experiences, laparoscopy was approved as an effective and safe method also in treatment of small children.
