Invasive Alien Plants in Protected Areas: Threats, Opportunities, and the Way Forward

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2013

Abstract

The potential threats posed by biological invasions are widely appreciated, but the state of knowledge and level of management of invasive alien plants in protected areas differs considerably across the world. Research done on nature reserves as part of the international SCOPE programme on biological invasions in the 1980s showed the vulnerability of natural or undisturbed areas to invasions.
