Recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis at the beginning of the third millennium

Abstract

Recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis remains a challenge for microbiologists and gynecologists in particular as regards the early and correct diagnosis and treatment options. Major predisposing and risk factors and immunopathological aspects of the disease are discussed.
