Abstract

Treatment of vaginal infections associated with abnormal discharge requires careful consideration of the available information and further procedures to get the optimal solution for the patient. Analysis of medical history, assessment of signs and symptoms, the correct diagnosis and choice of adequate therapy is a prerequisite of successful therapy.

Resistance to antibiotics and antifungals is not yet relevant problem with exception of some patients with Trichomonas vaginitis. The challenge remains the treatment of chronic idiopathic forms of vaginal infections.
