Abstract

A comprehensive study of the philosophy of 15th century Byzantine Platonist, Gemistos Plethon, important also for early Renaissance thought. The book is divided into a discussion of Gemistos' public (political) philosophy, his Platonism (Philosophia Perennis) and his religious beliefs, including his alleged neo-paganism.
