Abstract
Next generation or massive parallel sequencing (MPS) is a rapidly advancing method in molecular genetics that will bring significant changes in the personalized medicine field. In this review we briefly describe major types of MPS, including whole-genome, -exome, -transcriptome and amplicon sequencing.
We also present an overview of the advantages, drawbacks and possible applications of sequencing technologies available in the Czech Republic.
