The aim of the study was to monitor life satisfaction in a representative sample of Czech children within an international study of the World Health organization (WHO), The Health Behaviour in School Aged Children: A WHO Cross National Study (HBSC), to analyze life satisfaction in Czech children according to age and gender, and to evaluate it as it relates to other important factors: self-rated health, multiple health complaints, family, school, alcohol and tobacco consumption. The data were collected in June 2010 by means of standardized questionnaire.
The sample included 4425 Czech children (2145 boys and 2280 girls) from 86 primary schools and 8 grammar schools covering all regions of the Czech Republic.
