World conference of general practitioners and family physicians, the World Organization of National Colleges and Academies (WONCA) was organized in Prague, on June 25-29, 2013. 3628 participants from 105 countries came to Prague to share their knowledge and skills and to look for the best approaches to medical problems presented in primary care. The scientific program consisted of 7 plenary sessions, 95 workshops and 70 oral sessions. 1174 posters were presented.
Among key note speakers were such personalities as dr. Margaret Chan, the WHO general director, and prof.
Michael Kidd, newly elected president of WONCA WORLD. Beside the clinical topics a primary care research, quality improvement and education at all levels were discussed.
WONCA networks and special interest groups presented their work. The first global meeting of young general practitioners was organised as a preconference to WONCA 2013.
