Inquiry-based science competition game was created in order to help students to learn the ways of scietific work, scientific argumentation, to present results of their findings and form their relation to science at all. It consists of 10 rounds, each of them is dealing with one branch of science: botany, zoology, general biology, mycology, human biology, ecology, geology, mineralogy and petrology, paleontology, astronomy and physics.
Competition assignments are created and evaluated by scientists from National Museum in Prague and Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague. Possibility of communication between students and scientist was meant to be the main part of motivation of students to participate on competition and to improve their interest to learn science.
Assignments of competition game are freely available at website of project "Heureka! inquiry-based science education in practise" (www.objevuj.eu) and can be also used in classroom or after-school instruction. Preliminary results of analysis of students' solvings of research tasks show, that the students have an issue with formulation of research aims, research questions and hypothesis and with choise of way of results presentation.
