Representation of Violence and Trauma in Cintemporary Monologues

Abstract

The analysis of the various approaches to the representation of violence and trauma and in contemporary monologue plays, Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues, Heather Raffo’s Nine Part sof Desire, My Name Is Rachel Corrie and Doug Wright’s I Am my Own Wife, examines the possibilities and limit sof the monologue format, especially the role of the unreliable narrator.
