Abstract
The paper contains a critical evaluation of the effectivness of the current approach to imprisonment from the standpoint of resocialization of the offenders. It discusses the unsatisfactory state of internal differentation and comments critically on the recent propositions for its adjustment.
It proposes an alternative solution of internal differentiation which considers to a greater degree the personality of the offenders and which has been successfully applied in practice.
