Testing lower limbs strength is very important in soccer when muscle groups must generate and absorb high forces during acceleration, deceleration, jumping, kicking, turning, tackling, changes of direction. Comparing muscle strength from bilateral limbs or from agonist and antagonist may find a potential weakness that can predispose the player to injury.Testing lower limbs strength is very important in soccer when muscle groups must generate and absorb high forces during acceleration, deceleration, jumping, kicking, turning, tackling, changes of direction.
The purpose of this study was to ompare muscle strength from bilateral limbs or from agonist and antagonist may find a potential weakness that can predispose the player to injury. The factor of velocity significantly influenced the produced PT (F2,888 = 5961.5, p.05, partial η2 .The results indicated PT differences at different movement velocities. PT differences between the both KE and KF were detected at the lowest velocity.
The standardized results can contribute to PT assessment in elite young soccer players
