Paradoxical role of institutions in the implementation of the concept of lifelong learning

Abstract

The institutionalization of the supply of adult education can beregarded as one of the traditional andragogical themes. It is also an area where we can identify important differences between the development of theoretical thinking and direction of the practice of adult education.

The paper deals with the above mentioned paradox and provides some concrete examples based on the analysis of the situation in the Czech Republic.
