Abstract
The study support for a semester course named Basics of communication with the Deaf for students with special needs, used at the University of Ostrava. Support is composed of a text part (88 pages, 8 chapters - each consists of two sections: a section with elementary information about the Deaf community in the Czech Republic, their culture specifics and main features of Czech Sign Language, and a section of practical excercises of Czech Sign Language) and a multimedia part (CD-ROM).
