The genre of love letter in the correspondence of some Czech artists

Abstract

This paper discusses the stylistic characteristics of correspondence and emphasizes the concept of correspondence as a dialogue (constructed from turns in the form of letters). It views the letters of well-known Czech artists (Jan Neruda, Mikoláš Aleš, Karel Čapek) from a pragmatic perspective; from pragmatic parameters, particularly the politeness/impoliteness and so called temperature of the letters are observed.
