Abstract
The chapter is an introduction to the collective monograph Medicine Between the Singular and the Universal. The key concepts of „mathesis singularis“ and „mathesis univeralis“, which form a context of particular studies, are subsequently introduced and defined.
Then, all of the studies published in the book are briefly characterized, as well as the mutual – and sometimes surprising – correspondences between them.
