The author deals with the use and function of traditional records (the notes about a legal act, usually donation of properties, written by the receiver) in the Czech Lands from the end of 10th to the end of 13th c. from the view of the social position of both of them, the benefactor and the endowed. At the same time follows, the relation of traditional records and charters, which began to be used in the rulers´donations from the second half of 11th c.
The donations by nobility were recorded in the traditional records still in the middle of the 13th c.
