The chapter is devoted to Romance-language manuscripts which were discovered during the works on the project of the Inventory of Manuscripts of the 17th and 18th century from museum collections in Bohemia as an evidence of the influence and the reception of the Romance culture in early modern Bohemia. The attention is payed not only to manuscripts written completely in French or Italian (the presence of other Romance languages was not registred), but also to manuscripts comprising passages in these languages.
Typologically,, these manuscripts can be classified as follows: a) personal "alba amicorum", b) travelbooks, c) French or Italian grammars or schoolbooks, d) spiritual litarature (prayerbooks, books of hours, sermons, spiritual exercises, etc.), e) poetry and belles lettres, f) musicalia, g) other (extracts, annotations or legends to maps or engravings).
