Abstract

The questionnaire survey among 69 Prague casino croupiers realized in 2013 by SOGS questionnaire ( South Oaks Gambling Screen ) revealed incidence of pathological gambling as high as 33 % of the research sample , a further 44 % croupiers were pathological gambling risk. High prevalence of this disorder is in contrast with the fact that only 9 % of the population considers his time as problematic.

Post in addition to a discussion of the survey results and the possibility of prevention or early intervention by a trained staff of casinos and poker rooms. In the context of possible interventions to prevent the development of harmful and pathological gambling are then the results of this study interesting due to the fact that some of these approaches allow for the active role of staff gambling and casinos.
