Abstract

The data documenting historical occurrence of Huchen (Hucho hucho /Linnaeus, 1758/) in the Morava drainage (Danube basin) in the Czech Republic are summarized. The native presence of Huchen in the Morava River is documented up to the year 1900.

Later occurrence is based only on artificial stocking by fishermen. Nowhere the self-sustaining population of Huchen was found in the examined drainage.
