Abstrakt
The responsibility of war that United States of America have been exploiting with exquisite ability in the Japanese society contributes to the continuity of Japan, since 1945, as an ""abnormal state"" in security terms. On the other hand, security issues in Far East Asia, in terms of national sovereignty, are being gradually recognized by Japan as relevant problems.
In this context, Japan owns an alternative concerning its foreign policy: Russia. Therefore, it is proposed to analyze the Japanese-Russian political relations with main focus on energy and military affairs.
Japan has some geostrategic influence over Russia and that is an excellent start for Japan.
