Structural decompossion analysis of material flow indicators (SDA MFA)

Publication

Abstract

This methodology describes an application of structural decomposition analysis (SDA) on material flow indicators. The aim of SDA is to quantify an impact of studied factors on the development of a given indicator over a given time period.

The factors distinguished within this methodology are: size of population, volume of final demand, product structure of final demand, structure of categories of final demand, material intensity of economic sectors and the overall technology and structure of the economic system. SDA is based on input-output tables in constant prices.

Logarithmic mean divisia index method was chosen for decomposition of the effects of individual factors.
