The aim of this chapter, which has rather the form of an outline of research options, was to revive the discussion on some issues that were presented in work of Lenka Bobková on the Saxon exile which was published in the 1990s. I tried to extend its original stimuli of questions which can be answered with using of approaches to the study of collective identities.
I saw the main starting point for my reflections in the methodologies of historical and social anthropology. In my opinion, the Saxon party tried to influence the denomination and meanings of exiles in a bid to create new constructive elements of their new identity that would better suit the requirements of the Saxon social environment.
At the same time I tried to open some questions that would be appropriate to further study, firstly the possibility to study a collective identity of post-White Mountain exiles in Saxony.
