Abstract
The book is deals with the prehistoric and ancient history of Europe from a European perspective, including other ancient peoples, which are usually overlooked (nations in the shade) - eg. Phoenicians, Thracians, Illyrs, the Scythians, and even some smaller groups.
It also deals with the formation of early medieval Europe in the period of migration of peoples and the arrival of the Slavs.
