The effect of insulin on mechanical and electrical properties of adult health ventricular myocardium of rabbit and albino rat.

Abstrakt

Insulin exerts mild positive inotropic effect in rabbit myocardium and negative inotropic effect in the rat myocardium. The cause of this inter-species difference is, probably, different modus of the sodium/calcim exchanger and its sensitivity to insulin.
