Generating images of serial sections of model histological structures with known statistical properties

Abstrakt

We present a new software named 'gensei' as an open source tool for producing arbitrary series of sections through ellipsoids with knowm geometric properties. The program is useful for predicting the accuracy of stereological methods and training in quantitative histology.
