Stereological tools for quantitative microscopy of the aortic wall with focus on abdominal aortic aneurysma

Abstrakt

We review methods currently available for quantitative histopathology of aortic abdominal aneurysms. We demonstrate stereological quantification of vascular smooth muscle phenotype, leukocyte infiltration, vascularisazion of the aneurysm and elastinolysis of the tunica media.
