Abstract

A rare case of penetrating chest injury caused by a foreign body ejected from a lawn mower. Computed tomography reveled 10-cm wire lodged in the mediastinum and causing intramural hematoma of the descending thoracic aorta.

After the thoracic descending aorta had been stabilized by an implanted stentgraft, the foreign body was safely extracted. Presented case emphasizes the necessity of multidisciplinary approach to such patients so an immediate and life saving intervention could be performed on time.
