The Place of the Hussite Tradition in Modern Czech Society: The Cornerstone of National Identity?

Abstract

The monograph chapter is based on the premise that Hussitism represents the axis of memory of the modern Czech nation. This central point of memory is traced from the mid-19 th century up to the 1950s.

At the same time, historical returns to Hussitism are demythologized.
