Hematology represents one of the fields in which we can observe the close connection between clinical practice and laboratory analysis. In recent years we can observe the growing importance of molecular aspects of hematologic diseases, not only in terms of research, but especially in terms of clinical applications.
The understanding of these principles is essential for the basic orientation in hematology. This became the inspiration for a team of leading Czech experts who developed the first national monograph on the subject of molecular hematology, bringing basic summary of recent findings.
The monograph contains four main parts: fundamentals of molecular cell biology, selected new molecular biological methods frequently encountered in daily practice by the professional community, the molecular pathogenesis of the most common hematological malignancies and molecular pathogenesis of severe non-malignant hematological diseases.
