Thermoregulation in winter swimmers and physiological significance of human catecholamine thermogenesis

Abstract

In winter swimmers the magnitude of cold thermogenesis was related to changes in rectal temperature. Cooling evoked bradycardia reduction in plasma volume, later onset of shivering.
