Interesting Experiments in Chemistry around us

Abstract

The publication is helpful for chemistry teachers at secondary schools who are interested to present the chemistry as a lively and attractive discipline. It contains a set of experiments involving products of daily practice and also shows the methods of forensic chemistry.

Through experiments in simplified form of selected current topics in modern applications the pupils can understand the chemistry as a useful and interesting science. Some of the ideas were motivated by the investigators of European project CITIES and all the experiments were verified in practical laboratory workshops, carried out by teachers of chemistry in the years 2008, 2009, at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science.
