Phylogenetic relationships among plant and animal parasites, and saprotrophs in Aphanomyces (Oomycetes)

Abstract

Molecular phylogenetic relationships among 12 species of Aphanomyces (Oomycetes) were analyzed based on 108 ITS sequences of nuclear rDNA. Three independent lineages were found: plant parasitic, animal parasitic, and saprotrophic or opportunistic parasitic.
