Revision of Permo-Carboniferous griffenflies (Insecta: Odonatoptera: Meganisoptera) based upon new species and redescription of selected poorly known taxa from Eurasia

Abstract

Review of Paleozoic dragonflies (Odonatoptera: Meganisoptera) is provided with numerous high and low level taxonomy acts and descriptions of several new taxa. The diagnosis of the Meganisoptera is discussed and an emended diagnosis of Meganeuridae is proposed.

The diagnoses of Meganeurinae and Tupinae are discussed and some important characters redefined. A key to the tupine genera is proposed.
