Abstract

Land cover heterogeneity and diversity is one of the fundamental attributes of landscape structure. Evaluation of changes in the Czech Republic was carried out by analysis of basic landscape metrics in the regular net of hexagonal polygons using CORINE Land Cover data from the years 1990, 2000 and 2006.

The results showed that spatially differentiated and contradictory processes of land cover heterogeneity decrease and increase took place in the Czech Republic since 1990.
