Abstract
The occurance of rheumatoid diseases in population is 1-2 %. Cervical spine is affected in 40-70 %, the most often affected part is C1/C2 segment (atlantoaxial joint).
The authors describe alternative therapeutic approach to narrow group of patients who suffer from pain but have no response to analgetic therapy or have neurologic symptomatology and surgical intervention has not been yet indicated.The method could be established thanks to close collaboration with the Institute of Rheumatology in Prague and neurosurgical and orthopedic clinics of the Central Military Hospital, Prague.
