Abstract
In Prague, capital city of Czech Republic, there are a lot of green areas which are not protected by the law, like parks or nature reserve. These are mostly areas without any specific management.
They can usually be found alongside communications, railways, and watercourses or in neighborhood of old industrial land however also this part of greenery includes old extensive orchards, meadows and grazing land. This “new wilderness “is important for total biodiversity of the city.
Phenomenon of “new wilderness” is perceived mostly negatively however it has its own dynamics and original esthetics and, eventually, biological and ecological importance.
