Edward Wilson's biophilia hypothesis

Publication

Abstract

Edward Wilson's biophilia hypothesis (Wilson 1984) presents an interesting perspective for understanding factors influencing human cognition, understanding and behaviour towards various natural phenomena. The hypothesis is primarily based on evolutionary ecology of human species but has a strong environmental momentum.

It brings out similar questions as a new application oriented field of psychology - the conservation psychology. The article brings an explanation of biophilia hypothesis in the context of WIlson's work.
