Variability of Deficit Volumes in Czech Rivers and Their Relationship to Physical-geographical Catchment Characteristics

Abstract

Deficit volumes delimited by the M-day discharge Q330 threshold were analysed for their magnitude and variability. Further, annual sums of days with discharge equal or smaller than Q330 were examined.

Time series of all characteristics were tested for trends with the modified Mann-Kendall test. In selected catchments, correlations of the deficit volumes and physical-geographical characteristics were calculated.

An equasion was derived that allows to estimate the mean annual deficit volume of a catchment using the Q330 discharge, catchment area and the variation coefficient of mean daily discharges.
