Abstract
This methodology presents new instructions and procedures for cataloguing. Based on cataloguing special documents in the Map Collection there were during the years 2011-2014 explored options of name and subject description and gradually developed partial methodologies focused on the problems of cataloguing various types of cartographic documents such as maps, map works, atlases and globes.
At the same time, the new rules of RDA were studied. This methodology describes changes in cataloguing cartographic documents; it brings practical examples and summarizes existing results of cataloguing works and research carried out within a programme DF11P01OVV003: TEMAP - Technology for making map collections of the Czech Republic accessible: methodology and software for protection and use of cartographic works of National Cartographic Heritage.
