Abstract
Due to the aging of pensioners enhanced requirements on pension systems arise all over the Globe. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia preparations for the pension system reforms have been started before 2000 with the priority of setting the pension age limits (over the age of 60 for both men and women) along with a sort of combination of so called state and private pension insurance pillars.
These reforms incorporate also restructuring of handicapped people’s benefits and early pensions scheme. After 2000 new legal regulations have been gradually adopted in both states
