Abstract
Knowledge about Helicobacter pylori has contributed to understanding of the pathogenesis of gastroduodenal ulcer, MALT lymphoma and carcinoma of the stomach. The introduction of eradical therapy has had a fundamental influence on the occurrence of relapses and complications of the ulcer.
It has also made the treatment of the lymphomas with a low degree of malignity possible.
