A Short Neurocognitive Battery for Dementia Screening in Clinical Practice used: A Seven-minutes Screening test

Abstract

In dementia screening of persons by memory disturbing suffering, in conection with other cognitive syndromes, an objective assesment of psychic and before all of cognitive and affective functions is important to provide. The clinical outfinding we must fulfill by standartized scales.

The introduction of this article showes a brief outline of the most often used screening assesment scales for dementia diagnose and in the case of light cognitive disorders and the recomended diagnostic algorhytm in patients by cognitive disorder suffering. The second part describes the Seven-minutes screening testing (7MST) and a summary of results of the evaluation study in 136 geriatric patients provided.

The validity of this testing in the case of Alzheimer disease were confirmed by sensitivity of 95 per cent and by specifity of 93 per cent. In the way of its simplicity, hight discrimination ability and repeatability could this testing be a siutable complement in the clinical practice to establish the differential diagnostics in cognitive disorders in higher age.
