The mechanisms of neuropathic pain and mode of action of antiepileptics (anticonvulsants)

Abstract

Mechanisms supposed to be the reason of chronic neurogenic pain and epilepsy are discussed in this review. Possible common mechanisms are especially emphasized.

Mechanisms of action of most often used antiepileptic drugs against neuropathic pain are further reviewed.
