Abstract

A comprehensive actual overview of providing surgical care in the field conditions during armed conflicts, humanitarian crises or under natural disaster situations. The strategy, doctrine and concepts of surgical care within the military medical services of the NATO countries are supplemented by own experiences of surgeons of the Military Medical Service of the Czech Armed Forces gained during recent missions abroad.

The book summarises universal principles as well as specific recommendations for triage and treatment procedures of the most common war injuries, particularly of the ballistic injuries.
